Curemonte is not stingy with heritage buildings! You will discover 3 castles (private open on heritage days and during the summer for events), 3 Romanesque churches, 3 fountains, noble houses and a hall.

Not to be missed during your visit:

• To enjoy a magnificent view of Curemonte, go on the D106 towards Branceilles, follow the signs there is even a car park with picnic tables.
• The Association Les Amis de Curemonte organizes guided tours of the village, it is the ideal opportunity to understand the historical context which has brought so many heritage wonders to be present in the town!
• Dandelion flower aperitifs, jams or syrups, in the Lou pe de Gril shop in the town, we discover sweet and savory nuggets, as well as delicious fresh bread.
• 3km south of the village is the Neanderthal Man Museum in La-Chapelle-aux-Saints. Why such a museum in this town? Because in 1908, we found on the lands of the commune, the very first skeleton of a Neanderthal man. The museum is the ideal place to learn more about this ancestor of humanity. The museography is attractive, the museum is open all year round (by appointment in low season) and offers entertainment, workshops, tours, exhibitions. • 15km from the village to the east is Altillac, an area for nature recreation: canoeing (Aubarèdes recreation area), swimming in the river or in the municipal swimming pool, golf and many hiking trails are available.

Zoom on the Romanesque church of Saint Hilaire de la Combe: It is a historical monument, probably one of the oldest churches in the department. Carefully renovated, it is now enhanced by stained glass windows executed by a master glassmaker from Japan. A first work of art which is added to the others present during the artistic exhibitions organized within the religious building, now deconsecrated.
