Neuvic: Medieval origins

Neuvic was a fortified village, attached to the Viscounty of Ventadour. You will still see remains of towers, the church and its pretty Romanesque portal, an old gateway to the town. For the rest, Neuvic is charming for taking a break in one of its restaurants, on a small square or in a small alley. Enjoy a stroll and take the stairs near the fountain where, on clear days, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the foothills of the Auvergne. The Château de Neuvic d'Ussel houses an Arboretum of the Château de Neuvic that nature lovers will enjoy discovering. There are more than 370 species of trees and shrubs, in a green setting of 6 hectares. It is open a few days in May and June and during the summer.
