Canal des Moines d'Aubazine Nature Reserves / Parks in Aubazine

The Canal des Moines dates from the 12th century. It is a canal, dug in the rock and in the mountains, which carries water from a stream to the Abbey of Aubazine . It was built with all the ingenuity of the Cistercian monks of the time.

It is freely accessible all year round, but you can also take guided tours through the Tourist Office . The Canal des Moines is an opportunity for a lovely stroll. Park at Aubazine and follow the signs. We walk on very beautiful landscapes going up the course of the water, to a magnificent natural site with basins and a small waterfall. Very pleasant in summer.
