Treignac sur Vézère Towns & Villages in Treignac

The Vézère gorges are surprising, wild and welcoming at the same time. Come and visit Treignac-sur-Vézère, a charming village (a small town of character) typical of Corrèze with its granite, half-timbered houses, small stone bridge... It invites you to walk and it is also placed on a stage of the way to Santiago de Compostela. Treignac is between the Monédières massif and the Millevaches plateau, a prime location for hikers who enjoy coming here to spend holidays that are as sporty as they are relaxing for the mind. If you like whitewater kayaking and paragliding, this is also the place to go! Visit the Museum of Arts and Popular Traditions of Haute Vézère, it is a perfect place to learn more about local customs and ways of life. And it is installed in the house of the man who founded the Youth Hostels, Marc Sangnier, interesting isn't it? If you feel like swimming, go to Lac des Bariousses (also called Lac de Treignac), it's the "place to be" in summer, with a multitude of activities for all tastes and all ages. Teenagers and water game enthusiasts will love the Treign'Aqua Park and its inflatable games on the water.

North of Treignac, on the Vézère, the Cascade du Saut de la Virole can be discovered after an hour's hike from the hamlet of Coissac to Lestards.

To the northwest, the House of Trees and Nature is home to the arboretum of Chamberet, a peaceful place with a park hosting various natural environments, you can do orienteering there and in season, rent mountain bikes and enjoy outdoor recreation. A path has been laid out with sound discovery terminals, in season there is also a small animal park.
