About

  • English
    • It is nicknamed the City of the Horse, due to the presence of its National Stud Farm and numerous equestrian events (competitions, competitions, dressage, shows, equestrian cabarets), which take place at the racecourse. From its real name Arnac-Pompadour, it is more commonly called Pompadour.

The Pompadour Castle has also made this small village famous. It belonged and was built for Madame Le Normant d'Étiolles, one of the favorites of King Louis XV, who offered her this estate, of which she became Marquise. It is an interesting place to visit, it also consists of a floral park. The visit of the castle and the stables is done independently. The place is strongly linked to the equestrian world, it offers a beautiful view of the racecourse and many objects are evocations of the world of horses in the castle. You can also visit the Jumenterie and see shows and show meals with riders, at the castle in season.
