About

  • English
    • Tulle is a city with labyrinthine medieval streets, in which it is good to get lost, especially in summer to enjoy their coolness! It is the prefecture of Corrèze and it is also called "The city of 7 hills", due to its topography. It goes up, it goes down and you go through many stairs like in Rome! A walk in Tulle is pleasant, one will discover several elements of beautiful architecture, houses, balconies and old doors, such as the Porte des Mazeaux (one of the gates of honor at the entrance to the city), the Hotel Lauthonie with its two turrets (it is an extension of the old ramparts), or the Loyac House from the 16th century. Tulle Cathedral dates from the 12th century and its peaceful 13th century cloister houses a museum. The Cloister Museum allows you to stroll through it, it is a complement to the visit of the cathedral and the city. To visit Tulle easily, here is a map with information on Tulle (fr), published by the Tourist Office. Tulle is also the Accordion Capital! There is the Manufacture Maugein, which since 1919 has been making this unique musical instrument, an emblem of French music. Guided tours are possible, but by appointment and at certain times, approach the factory directly.

Tulle is positioned on the paths of Santiago de Compostela, the Way of Rocamadour (fr) which continues in the Dordogne Valley. This is an opportunity to stop there and discover its heritage.
